Controlling the instrument
The instrument is equipped with three segment LED displays indicating:
- Set / Measured output voltage
- Set current limit / Measured output current
- Mode indication / Measured power delivered to load
The voltage and current limit are set by turning the instrument knob with one of the two 10-turn potentiometers on the front panel.
Switching on the power supply output is done by the right hand button marked ON/OFF located below the display. Its switching on is indicated by one of the two red LEDs marked CC or CV. A lit CC (Constant Current) LED indicates a mode in which the output current limitation is active and the power supply is operating in constant current source mode. Otherwise, if the CV (Constant Voltage) LED is lit, the power supply is in standard constant voltage source mode.
The display normally has three display modes:
The first is the control potentiometer setting indication mode - this is indicated by the text "Set" on the lowest display. This mode is activated automatically whenever the unit is switched on and then whenever the power supply output is switched off. In this mode, the display responds very quickly to the movement of the potentiometers.
The second mode is the display of the currently measured values at the source terminals. This is activated automatically when the source output is switched on. The measured values are updated every 0.5s. In case you need to make finer adjustments of the power supply with the output switched on with a faster response, you can use the DISP button to change the mode to display the set values "Set" and make the adjustments. Pressing the DISP button again will return you to the setpoint display mode.
The last display mode is diagnostic - it is indicated either by the text "Err" and a numeric code, in case of an internal fault in the power supply, or by the text "Code" in diagnostic mode (for service purposes only).
