Our CNC milling machine 4MILL600 together with the supplied TrackMaker software is designed primarily for prototype production of printed circuit boards. The milling machine can produce single and double-sided PCBs up to A3 size with high precision. With standard settings, it is possible to mill isolation paths or leave conductive paths with a width of 0.1mm and drill holes from 0.2mm in diameter. The software works with GERBER data for milling and EXCELLON data for drilling, i.e. with standard formats that can be exported from design programs such as EAGLE, KiCad etc.

The production of custom PCBs by dry milling has its advantages. Once the design is complete, the PCB can be produced in a matter of tens of minutes. No chemistry is required for production, so there is no need to deal with chemical management or subsequent disposal of used etching solutions, developers, etc. You are not dependent on external suppliers and you do not risk misuse of your data during production in East Asian countries. Thus, the milling machines find their application in companies engaged in in-house electronics production and development, in school classrooms where they replace the chemical production of PCBs or in universities where they enable and facilitate the work of students and researchers on scientific projects.

The 4MILL600 milling machine is equipped with an aluminum work table with T-slots. One of the T-slots is fitted with stones fitted with pins, which both serve to securely hold the milled PCB and guarantee precise mirroring after turning the material when producing double-sided PCBs. You do not need to adjust anything, the software automatically recalculates everything.

Precise depth adjustment is important for milling fine PCB motifs. For perfect results, it must be possible to adjust the milling depth in micrometer ranges. 4MILL600 is equipped with a milling head with floating effect. The milling head then follows the material surface precisely and maintains a constant milling depth regardless of material undulations.

The 4MILL600 is equipped with a professional SycoTec spindle with a speed of 60k rpm. This enables milling of very fine contours with high quality of cut, without burrs and without risk of copper stripping. Changing milling tools is quick and easy thanks to the locking nut located on the spindle. No tools are required to change the tool in the clamp!

All Mipec milling machines are supplied with their own TrackMaker software. Data preparation for PCB milling is very easy thanks to the intuitive user interface. No previous experience in programming or operating CNC machines is required. With TrackMaker you can import and edit your gerber data for milling the top side of the PCB, the bottom side of the PCB and the cutout, or Excellon data for drilling. TrackMaker will then suggest the milling method itself, including recommended tooling design for milling and drilling. TrackMaker then guides you through the milling process itself with pop-ups to alert you to change the tool with the desired diameter, prompt you to rotate the PCB, or inform you when the milling process is complete. Of course, there is also a safety switch, which can be used to switch the machine off immediately if necessary.
